Now that Aubrey is a little over two months old we thought we'd share some of her favorite things. It is amazing to see her personality develop right in front of our eyes. Although I am sure none of these are unique to most infants each one of them are special to us as we continue to learn more about this parenthood thing. Below is Aubrey's top 10 favorite things right now:#10: Ceiling Fans - Sometimes when we look down at our little girl and see the awe and wonder in her eyes we think she is looking at us. Then we notice her eyes are pointing slightly upward and the fan has captured her attention.
#9: Napping - This is a recent addition to Aubrey's routine. For about the first 6 - 7 weeks Aubrey was not a big fan of napping. I think she had too much to see and too much to do during those early weeks. Now she is willing to kick back and relax some. I see this as one that will climb higher into the list.
#8: Bath Time - This too has been an acquired taste for Aubrey. As of recent times she has been a very happy camper in her tub. It still cracks Mom and Dad up the fact that she balls her little hands and places them by her ears during the entire process. Despite this rigidity there is not a single cry or look of concern. I think she likes being pampered.
#7: The ABCs - Sometimes when Aubrey is fussy we decide that singing the ABCs does the trick. We are getting quite good at it and make a great duet. We plan to release our album this winter. Look for it on iTunes.
#6: Laying on My Back Kicking - Aubrey is very entertained by laying on her back and kicking up a storm. She'll throw in some arm movements as well and the entire epi
sode looks like a choreographed dance. We bought her a jungle themed play yard this weekend so she can start kicking and reaching for all the toys that dangle above her.

Despite the turtle themed nursery, clothing, pacifiers, etc. nothing captures Aubrey's attention as well as those bears. We'll see if that continues or if she has a change of heart.
#4: Stroller Walks Outside - We try to get Aubrey some outside time everyday by giving her a ride in her stroller. She loves it. Her eyes are as big as saucers checking out all the exciting things around her. This is also a good remedy for fussiness.
#3: "Massage Chair" - In one of the most surprising things that Aubrey loves is getting burped. Basically Daddy sits her down and holds her head up with one hand under her chin and uses his other hand to pat on her back to encourage a burp. For some reason Aubrey absolutely loves this and frequently falls asleep during the process.
#2: Smiling with Mom and Dad - Nothing beats catching Aubrey in the right mood and exchanging smiles. She is starting to interact by cooing and making noises to simulate a conversation. It is so much fun I can hardly explain it.
#1: Mealtime - No surprise here. Who doesn't like a good meal? When I have the opportunity to give her a bottle I am always amazed when I look into those eyes... you can see the unconditional love. There is nothing like it.
