Aubrey turned eight weeks old today and if she were wearing a mood ring her mood would be 'mellow' (do they still make those? if so, probably not one small enough for her tiny fingers) . My guess is she is a little introspective after her favorite baseball team, the NY Mets, season ended so dreadfully. Despite that setback the family had a great week. Daddy took the week off of work to spend with the family before Aubrey begins full-time daycare next week. We decided to have Aubrey spend a few hours in the morning at daycare starting on Tuesday to get her (ok let’s be honest... Mommy and Daddy) used to it. So far so good. Rosa and I feel very fortunate so far with the selection we made. Her teacher, Miss Annette, has been wonderful in getting the entire family acclimated. All the other babies are 5+ months old and much bigger so she gets ALL the attention. The entire staff brightens up when she comes into the building. I’m starting to wonder if I can use this as a bargaining chip for a reduced rate.As far as development and family life Aubrey is doing well. Next week is the dreaded 2 month appointment with a battery of shots/immunizations so we should probably start preparing now. She is very attentive and likes to move her head from side to side watching all the action a
round her. She seems happiest lying on her back and kicking her legs around. She cracks a smile for Mommy and Daddy every so often accompanied with a giggle. We've been too slow on the camera to catch a really good one but I am sure it will come soon. It has been a fun week and nice reminder of how lucky we are.
