I am happy to report that the just under three hour car ride to Roanoke to visit Aubrey's grandparents went great. Not a peep was heard from the backseat. What we failed to plan for was the preceding three hours of packing, unpacking and repacking for the weekend (don't forget the extra car seat base, stroller, pack-and-play, bath time accessories, etc.). Next time we should be better prepared. Grandmommy, Grandpa and Uncle Rafael welcomed us with open arms. Even the family cat, Platinum, seemed to acknowledge the arrival of a VIP. Once Aubrey became acquainted with her new surroundings everything went great. Mommy and Daddy even got some time to make a quick run to Target together. It is amazing that leaving the house for small errands seem noteworthy these days.The plan from here is that Brian will return home Sunday while Rosa and Au
brey stay back for a few more days of vacation. Grandmommy's sisters are eagerly looking forward to meeting Aubrey on Monday. The family will reunite on Tuesday back in Richmond. Although it will be tough not to see Aubrey for a few days we are confident that absence will make the heart grow fonder upon her return. Although I am not sure if that is possible since Daddy is her hero (look, we even have a shirt to prove it!).
